You have set up your Google Business Profile, listed on directories, created WhatsApp Business, and started getting reviews. Now for the final step: understanding where your customers are actually coming from so you can do more of what works.

Tool 1: Google Business Profile Insights (Immediate, No Setup)

Your Google Business Profile already tracks everything without any setup. Log in to business.google.com and click "Performance" to see:

  • How many people searched for your business (by name vs by category)
  • How many people called you directly from Google
  • How many people asked for directions to your shop
  • Which photos get the most views
  • How you compare to similar businesses in your area
Check your Google Business Profile Insights every Monday morning. Look at which day of the week gets most calls — that tells you when customers are actively searching for you.

Tool 2: Google Search Console (Free, 5 Min Setup)

If you have a website (or even just a directory listing URL), Google Search Console shows you exactly which Google searches are bringing people to you.

    Go to search.google.com/search-console and sign in with your Gmail

    Add your website URL or ContactDirectoryAI listing URL

    After verification, see which search terms bring people to your page

Tool 3: WhatsApp Link Tracking

Create different WhatsApp links for different sources so you know which one is working best:

  • wa.me/91XXXXXXXXXX?text=Hi+found+you+on+Google → put this on your Google profile
  • wa.me/91XXXXXXXXXX?text=Hi+found+you+on+directory → put this on your directory listing
  • wa.me/91XXXXXXXXXX?text=Hi+from+your+shop+banner → put this on your physical banner

When customers message you, the first message tells you exactly where they came from.

Tool 4: Free QR Code Tracking

Print QR codes that link to your Google review page, WhatsApp, or website. Use qr-code-generator.com (free) to create and download QR codes. Place them:

  • At your shop counter with "Scan to contact us on WhatsApp"
  • On your delivery packaging with "Scan to leave a review"
  • On your business card with "Scan to see our full catalogue"
